Things... Of Which... Have Happened over the weekend and some thoughts

So I was walking into Wal-mart Tonight and there was a booth set up for Girl Guide Cookies and of course the first thing I thought was I miss not only eating those cookies but selling those cookies. I might even consider getting some this year so that I can hold onto a little bit of some goodness that was amazing. It's unfortunate that the original maker of the cookies didn't continue making them for the Girl Guides.

Last Night

Last Night I attended a YSA fireside in Brampton and the speakers were the Former Temple President and His Wife and they spoke about how important Education Is and also Public Affairs of the Church in regards to Correcting Incorrect information as well as promoting the church in a positive light through positive things.

On December 15, 2007 Elder M. Russell Ballard (whom I have personally come in contact with in at least the past 6 months through another YSA (Young Single Adult) Fireside spoke at the Commencement at BYU-Hawaii and spoke about the fact that we can make such a huge impact on what we say and what we present online about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We can't afford to present messages that defile this church in any way or present untrue thoughts or comments because all we really want to do is present that this church does good, it helps people, it supports people, and it provides a good positive way of life. The talk can be found here.

One quote that doesn't cease to amaze me is this

"Now some of these tools -- like any tool in an unpracticed or an undisciplined hand -- can be dangerous. The Internet can be used to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and can just as easily be used to market the filth and sleaze of pornography. iTunes can be used to download uplifting and stirring music or the worst kind of anti-social lyrics, full of profanity. Social networks on the Web can be used to expand healthy friendships as easily as they can be used by predators trying to trap the unwary. That is no different from how people choose to use television or movies or even the library. Satan is always quick to exploit the negative power of new inventions, to spoil and to degrade and to neutralize any effect for good. Make sure that the choices you make in the use of new media are choices that expand your mind, increase your opportunities, and feed your soul."

Now with all this said, The Temple President's wife showed us a brief clip from the website about where do we come from and spoke with us about the fact that even if the church look my look difficult to access on the outside it doesn't hurt to ask someone, phone someone up to clarify something that has transpired, ask if something is available because from that doors will open and opportunities will arrive in any situation religious or not.

Now With that being said, I don't want you to think that I'll shove my religion down your throats I just want you to know that I am normal and I like watching movies, writing in my blog, good music, watching Heroes, Pushing Daisies, Gilmore Girls, and having friends. But I do not mind answering any questions. I don't have all the answers but I'm willing to at least give it a shot and try and find an answer or even ask someone else to help me find the answer. I do want you to know that I will not judge your questions and it's my hope that you judge me in return.

We are all different and we all have the opportunity to share what we have to offer. This post is in reference to that I'm sharing a part of myself that not only should be shared but this experience can provide you with insight to a great Sunday I had :)

This is something I think about a lot. Now that my blog is becoming a little more established I feel a little more comfortable writing about the church, and I can't wait to share certain things with my regular readers. :)

Are girl guide cookies the same as girl scout cookies? Do they have Samoas and Thin Mints. Oh, Samoas are my downfall. I lurve them beyond passion.

Looking Forward
